My girls raided my button jars and together we strung buttons from smallest to widest. I helped them knotting the top and bottom tightly and gave them a few tips in colour choices too.

My 4 year old however decided to do her own thing and made this beautiful button wreath.

Buttons are dirt cheap. You can get a whole pack of hundreds from ebay for a couple of pounds or any craft shop for less than a pound for 50 assorted buttons. My collection included many that were from charity shops. The older the better!
