The day was May the 4th and we started the bank holiday by watching Star Wars Episode 3: The Revenge of the Sith. It’s bluebell season and I didn’t want my kids to miss out this year so I dragged everyone out of the house and we ventured into Wanstead Park in search for these blue beauties. Apparently, according to my husband, 50% of all the bluebells in the whole world are in the UK. One of my neighbours has her front garden covered in bluebells. Of course I took this opportunity to snap photos of my 3 too, husband behind my head pulling faces to keep them looking amused. Here are some snaps from our bluebell adventure through the woods, looking for bluebell trails and into the flat fields covered in these magnificent flowers.
On our way to our bank holiday evening meal, we passed a bird nesting gracefully in the middle of a lake. My kids threw stones around it (at a good distance from the bird of course) to create ripples. Our day ended with a lovely grilled meal at a nearby family-friendly restaurant. Thank God for bank holidays!
