Oliver & Lina’s rustic city chic wedding on board the Elizabethan

Imagine summer in the Mediterranean: olive trees and pretty succulents, beautifully calligraphed names on fresh rosemary labels, lavender and perfect shades of silver green for the tone of the day, the soft glow of the late afternoon light painted across the sky and a luxury liner gently sailing into the setting sun. Oliver and Lina’s wedding was unquestionably one of the most elegant and unforgettable weddings I have photographed. And no, it wasn’t in the Med, it was right here in the great city that is London.

Oliver and Lina put on the party of a lifetime for their friends and loved ones on board the Elizabethan cruising up and down the River Thames. Lina along with her bridesmaids and family got ready at the luxury 5 star Threadneedle’s Hotel where she donned her delicate Vera Wang wedding dress. Their ceremony took place at St. Helen’s Bishopsgate – a 12th century church and the largest surviving parish church in the city, where Oliver and Lina made their forever vows to each other in the presence of a great number of family and friends.

Cruising on the Elizabethan was one thing – food, love, music, laughter, dancing flowing into the night past iconic London landmarks illuminating the blue summer sky. The newlyweds’ leaving was another, and the biggest surprise of the night. Guests who remained on the Elizabethan waved off Oliver and Lina, who were picked up by a helicopter and circled above London before being flown on to the beginning of their honeymoon.

Hats off to the happy coupe for the most superb and meticulous wedding planning down to the last second {lest guests miss the boarding and departure times and they themselves miss their airspace window}.
