The very lovely Ruth and Sam and new Mr and Mrs grace the blog today! Although they had a Christmas country wedding, I knew there would be no reds and that Ruth would make everything look so effortlessly elegant and stylish! They went for a gorgeous colour combination of green, white and natural earth colours like warm calico and hessian with subtle touches of gold and pale grey. It might have been a cold and grey December day but it was full of love and warmth, laughter and friendship and a strong sense of faith and family. I must say they had an amazing band playing during the ceremony at St. James Church in Coventry – definitely one of my favourites and a highlight throughout my wedding photography career! I’m sure you will notice how beautiful the flowers are, which the bride, an incredibly talented florist, made herself. I was told Sam had plenty of creative input too especially on their wedding invites which they designed and printed themselves. I also love the Christmas trees and fairy lights on the tables and the flower seeds favours. If you have seen their engagement session photos you will have noticed the yellow duck. There is a special story behind it and so of course it has to feature again during the wedding day. Thanks to the amazing Elspeth, the newlywed ducks made the centre piece of the 3-tier wedding cake! Ruth had buckets of flowers left unused so we decided to use them as props for the photobooth, which was very apt for a florist’s wedding, and had everyone going mad on how to dress themselves with flowers. It made for a fun evening along with a delicious Christmas dinner and evening spread at the reception venue Windmill Village Hotel. Here are a few highlights of their beautiful wedding day. Congratulations Ruth and Sam – you are both so inspiring. I know many agree with me that you are perfect for each other! Love to you both!
