The Olympic Flame arrives in Stratford and the Olympic Village | London Portrait Photographer

We went out this morning to see the Olympic Torch Relay 2012, just outside my house. Soon crowds gathered, police and security obstructed our view, of course, especially after yesterday’s attempt by a teenager to steal the torch from a torchbearer, now the torchbearers are so tightly surrounded by security, it was hard to get a good clear view of the change-over. But it was fun and the atmosphere was great with visitors, local families and children excitedly waving flags and streamers. Despite the many issues surrounding the event’s planning, there is great anticipation in the air of the worldwide phenomenon we see every four years that is the Olympics. And next week, it will be right here on my doorstep! Hope you enjoy these pics!
