You must be an extra special girl if you get pursued twice. By the same guy. And that guy must equally be extra sure not only to pursue you twice, but also to wait five long years with the great blue Atlantic between you. When true love comes with the hand of God in its wings, there are no barriers. Not time. Nor distance. This is the story of Tom and Cecily.

Tom and Cecily met through a mutual friend who came on a mission trip to the church Tom was working at in London. It was love at first sight for Tom and despite Cecily being only 20 at that time, Tom wasted no time expressing his desire for a future together. But Cecily felt she was too young and there was so much more she had yet to discover and learn.

A few years followed where contact was few and far between. Somewhere hidden in a safe and secret place, memories and hopes were kept alive should a path open again and the time would be right. The time did come but not without pain. Cecily’s Dad passed away suddenly and in the bitterness of tears and comfort of heavenly hope, Tom and Cecily got back in touch once again. This time though, it was sweeter. And fresher. Like rain after a long and dry winter.

Smitten from day one, Tom declared his intentions for the second time and a proposal soon followed; Cecily could not dream of someone or something better to happen. So she said yes. And as the saying goes, the best is yet to come…
